Our History

Oman Blending Services (OBS) was established as a landmark In-Country Value (ICV) project, born from the Ministry of Oil and Gas’s vision to bolster local production capabilities in the oil and gas sector. With the aim to increase Oman’s self-reliance, OBS was created to blend a diverse range of chemicals essential for oil production. The project’s primary objective was to replace imported products, thus maximizing local content and supporting Oman’s industrial growth.

Our present

Today, OBS stands as a pioneering Public-Private Partnership (PPP) based in Samail PEIE Industrial Estate, strategically located near major Omani ports and en route to the country’s vital oilfields. As a leader in the industry, OBS collaborates with top Oilfield Chemical suppliers to produce all the commonly used oilfield chemicals, including but not limited to Demulsifiers, Emulsifiers, H₂S Scavengers, Corrosion Inhibitors, Scale Inhibitors, Biocides, Wax Inhibitors, Pour Point Depressants, Lubricants, and Coolants.

Having evolved into a comprehensive Chemical Management Solutions provider, OBS now offers toll blending and a suite of value-added services that enhance efficiency for chemical companies in Oman and the wider GCC region. As the largest toll-blending facility in the GCC, we produce over 200 million liters of oilfield chemicals per month, serving both the local Oman market and the broader MENA region.

In an effort for continuous for development, OBS is now a lead producer for Biodiesel (B-100, B-B-20, B-10...) with highest quality in the market compatible to European standards EN14214 and American standards ASTM D6751. Also, OBS has developed grease production line, the only in Oman, capable of producing most types of greases (Lithium multipurpose, Lithium complex, Calcium greases, Valve grease wire grease …).
